2nd full day in Beijing/ foster family

A quick post tonight we are all pretty zonked. Graham had a great time at the Great Wall. At first he was pretty nervous about the steepness but came around. After the wall we went to visit Corinne's foster family. They are so kind and loved her so much. Her foster mom and sister teared up a few times, especially when they talked about her last night and last morning with them. They told us a few stories about her. When I came home I typed them in a word document so I won't forget them. We in turn shared stories about her and they loved to her what she is doing. Corinne did 2 drawings for them and they loved them. Her foster mom told me to tell Corinne that she still misses her very much. It was a sweet visit and one that we all enjoyed. They funny part is they kept feeding Graham. We had eaten lunch right before coming so he was already full. While at their home he was fed 2 banana's, 1 orange, a bunch of chessnuts, dried mango, sunflower seeds, 3 cups of hot tea, and some type of chip snack. He was sweet and thought he should eat all they gave him so not to be rude.

  1. Wow! Sounds like Graham is going to come home a few pounds heavier with all the food he has been eating! What a kind heart he has to be willing to not turn away the food from the foster family...he is kinder than I would have been!! What a sweet visit to the foster family you all had. I can't imagine how special that was for them to get to see how much she has grown and how loved she is by your family. It is hard to believe you all are in heavy coats since all I can think about is how hot we were in Beijing this summer (esp during the Hutong tour.... almost too hot to eat!) Thanks for all the posts so we can feel like we experiencing a little of your trip via the internet. Praying for you all that you will get good sleep as you all prepare to meet sweet MAggie!

  3. When I was with the family, they gave me watermelon. Remember it is a custom if you empty your plate they keep feeding you. Picture of the whole family is wonderful. I only got to meet the mom. Maybe one day Corinne can go back meet and thank them for loving her so much. Their sweet love is part of what she is today. I can't wait to hear what Graham has to say about all this. Looking forward to tomorrow. I know you are asleep as I write this and upon waking it will be Maggie day. I pray all goes well and that hearts will meld together immediately with as little stress as possible.
