Vintage sewing & pillowcase dresses, apron skirts

Business is kind of slow right now so I ventured into a few antique stores this weekend and got some new ideas. I will make some pillowcase dresses, tops, and apron skirts. I saw some pillowcases that had beautiful blue handembroidered edges/tatting. I think they would look great with a monogram in at the top of the dress. I did not buy those pillocases, but email me if you are interested in something like that.

I think these ladies hankerchiefs pictured below are beautiful and decided they would make up into great apron skirts. I will use a coordinating gingham for the main skirt and sew the hankerchif on to look like an apron. They will look great with just a plain white tee. I will sell each skirt for $29. shipping will be $3 Email me if you would like one and I can make it in your size Sold

This is an example of an apron skirt. I do have the patchwork fabric below if you are interested in that fabric - but this is NOT my skirt. I am just using this image to give an example. I can make a skirt with any fabric with added embillishments like pom poms.

Next I found 2 matching handembroidered pillowcases. I am going to sew these into pillowcase dresses. I will use grossgrain ribbon for the ties. The length of the dress will be 28 inches. I can make it shorter but I can not make it longer. They would make darling matching sister dresses. Email me if you would like to purchase - I have only 1 set of these pillowcases. I will sell these dresses for $32. Shipping will be $3

Notice the beautiful tatting along the edge of the case

Below is a handembroiderd rose pillowcase dress. I think it coordinates well with the Amy Butler dot fabric. I plan to make this pillowcase into a top and make matching bloomers or shorts for the bottom. The top will look like a pillowcase dress it will just be made shorter to be a top. I will use grossgrain ribbon for the ties. Email me if you want to order - I have only 1 of this pillowcase. This set will be $42.

2 Years ago today

2 Years ago today Brook and I were in Shanxi province in Taiyuan City, China meeting Corinne for the first time

It is so amazing how much she has changed! I remember when she use to cry and whimper in her sleep. It is such a blessing to now watch her sleep so confidently and peacfully, so securely. It is just a testament of God's grace and healing in her life. The other day someone told Brook "that is an awfully small finger to be wrapped around". They are right we are smitten and wrapped!

She loves to dance, especially with Daddy.
